Anyone who works with children of preschool or early school age can perceive a particularly attuned "living space" into which adults must tune in. From the point of view of music education, this raises the question of an appropriate musical design for this living space of the children.
In Waldorf pedagogy, the concept of the "mood of the fifth" is encountered in this context, which is opened up in its depth and complexity in this publication: in musical self-experience, in pedagogical and music-pedagogical observations, in biographical testimonies, in research results from music psychology, in the phenomenological observation of children's songs.
For the new edition, the booklet previously published under the same title has been re-edited and greatly expanded.
